When it comes to environmentalism I am preoccupied with the personal stories and connections to the land we inhabit. In my video collage work, simplified natural forms dance over natural scenes, documenting a personal emotional dialogue with Place. By appealing to our phenomenological impulse as humans to relate to our world through values and meanings, I encourage the viewer to lean into their own memories and personal connections to Place as a pathway to care deeply for our shared environment.
Where are the natural spaces we hold sacred, and by honoring our memories of these spaces, can we protect their future?
